Every morning as you get up for the day and stumble into the restroom, make sure you weigh-in! First thing. Maybe have a pee first, but RIGHT after!
…but not on the scale which can only give you a numerical value. Weigh-in with your body! How are you feeling? Still tired after a good-night’s sleep? Stiff joints? Headache? Or are you well-rested, energized, pain-free, motivated, and ready to take on the day?
If you find yourself in the first category, then maybe it’s time to re-evaluate your daily routine. Weight is not a good estimate of health, contradictory to what doctors and your BMI will tell you. Your body really holds all the answers.
Stiff joints? Your body might be in an inflammatory state. Check your sugar intake, food allergies and sensitivities, or increase your daily intake of Omega-3s.
Still tired? Maybe your hormones are out of wack, specifically cortisol (the stress hormone).
Headache? Did you drink enough water yesterday? Is your body sensitive to any airborne allergies?
Plan your meals and your daily workouts according to your body! Sometimes working out can be MORE damaging to your fitness than taking a rest day or two. Our society has glamorized stress and fatigue to a point that most think it is a sign of productive day rather than a sign that our body is breaking down.
Work with your body so that it can work longer for you!
